Where the emerald waters meet the beautiful white sands! A coral sand beach with a capacity of 3000 people.
The Y-shaped coral sand beach, located at the northern-most point of the park. The Emerald Beach is where visitors can see the beautiful cobalt blue waters of Okinawa. This is the only beach in Japan that is located within a lagoon and the water has been "AA" approved, providing a beautiful and clean bathing spot.
The beach was selected as one of the "55 best beaches in Japan" by the Environmental Agency in May 1998 and was again selected as one of the "88 best beaches in Japan" in May 2001 by the Ministry of the Environment.
The beach is separated into three smaller beaches, the Playing, Resting and Viewing Beaches, and can accommodate up to 3000 people. It is carefully supervised for the safety and comfort of our visitors and to protect the environment.

Visitor Information
- Rental
1. A palasol : 500 yen
2. A summer bed : 500 yen
3. Set of a palasol and two summer beds : 1,000 yens
Other rental items are available. Extra 1,000 yen is required as a deposit.
The deposit will be paid back when the rental items are returned.
- Free swimming and showers.
- Coin lockers: 100 yen
- Shops and snack stands are on the beach. Visitors can buy swim wear and original T-shirts at the shops, and yakisoba noodles and ice cream are on sale the snack stands.
- Nurses and lifeguards are on duty.
- Beach is protected by jellyfish nets.
- Toilets for handicapped visitors available.
- Approximately a 14 minute walk from the Park Information Center (Haisai Plaza). Accessible by Trolley (charges apply).
Beach Maintenance
- There are beach cleaning personnel on duty at our beach.
- To provide the safest swimming environment, the beach is covered with coral sand.
- This beach has been designated as a safe beach by the Prefectural Public Safety Commission.
- We make great efforts to preserve and protect the coral, marine life and natural environment within the area.
