Okushoin

Okushoin

This is where the king relaxed between his duties.
The scale of the building is 5.46m x 6.37m, and aside from the king’s room, there was a waiting room for the Okushoin Bugyo or magistrate. It is not known when the building was constructed, but records show that it was rebuilt around 1715.
In the past, Okushoin was connected to the Kinju-Tsumesho to the north and Omono Atai Tsumesho to the west. Adjacent to it to the east was the sacred Mekaru Utaki and to the south was the garden.
