Event-related matters

What is the purpose of the Ocean Expo Park Summer Festival 2024?
As a major summer event representing Okinawa Prefecture, it is held with the aim of promoting the use of Ocean Expo Park and Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and contributing to the promotion of tourism in the prefecture, especially in the northern part of the main island.
What happens if bad weather is expected?
In the event of strong winds (wind speeds of 10m or more), stormy weather (heavy rain, thunder), or unforeseen natural disasters, the fireworks will be canceled.
We will notify this website at 10:00 a.m. on the day whether the event will be held or not.
The event will be held even in light rain. In the event of rain, please refrain from using umbrellas as it will cause inconvenience to other customers. Please bring a raincoat or similar.
If the safety distance changes due to wind direction on the day, you may be asked to move your seat. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in order to hold the event safely.
What time do the fireworks start?

Regarding tickets

Where can I buy paid tickets for the "46th Ocean Expo Park Fireworks Festival"?
"Advance tickets" can be purchased at Lawson, 7-Eleven, and FamilyMart in Okinawa Prefecture and nationwide (from June 13th). "Same-day tickets" will be sold at the venue (Emerald Beach). "Bus tour tickets" are also available from various tour companies.
Can paid tickets for the "46th Ocean Expo Park Fireworks Festival" be purchased on the day?
Both general seats and box seats will be sold at Emerald Beach from 10:00.
Can I get a refund if it is canceled?
If the cancellation is decided before 10:00 on the day, we will refund the amount minus the handling fee. No refunds will be given if the "Ocean Expo Park Summer Festival 2024 / 46th Ocean Expo Park Fireworks Festival" is interrupted or ended midway on the day.
Can I get a refund if I can't go on the day?
We cannot accept any refunds, complaints, or seat transfers. Thank you for your understanding.
What should I do if I forget my ticket on the day?
You will not be able to enter if you do not have a ticket. Please make sure to remember to bring it with you. One ticket is required per person to enter the paid viewing seats. Tickets will not be reissued for any reason (lost, damaged, discarded, burned, stolen, forgotten on the day, etc.).
Can I re-enter?
Re-entering is possible. You will need to present your wristband at the gate reception when re-entering.
*Please be careful not to lose your wristband until the end of the fireworks display.

Congestion and parking

Are the roads crowded on the day?
Public roads and parking lots are usually very crowded. Please arrive early.
Are there dedicated parking lots for paid seats?
There are no parking lots for paid seats. Please secure your own parking space. We recommend arriving early.
Can I find out the congestion status of the parking lots in real time on the day?
We plan to post information on the official SNS of Ocean Expo Park.
Can I park in the parking lots around the venue?
There are free parking lots around the park, but they are usually almost full by around 3pm, including the temporary parking lot. The surrounding roads are also crowded, and it takes a long time to arrive at the park, so we recommend arriving early.
Where does the shuttle bus from the temporary parking lot depart from?
From 12:30 to 24:00, it runs from "Yamachan Bento to Yugafuin BISE".
*After the fireworks display, it will run until 24:00.

Regarding beach use

What time can I swim on the beach?

Can I bring coolers etc. to the paid seats?
For paid general seats, you can bring small items that fit in the frame of your seat, and for box seats, you can bring items that fit within the area.
Can I bring a stove into the venue? Can I have a barbecue?
The use of fire sources such as portable stoves and charcoal grills is prohibited. Barbecues are also prohibited.
Can I bring tents, chairs, tables etc.?
Yes, but please put them away before the fireworks as they will interfere with other customers' viewing of the fireworks.
Can I bring pets to the venue?
Only small dogs are allowed to enter, as they must be on a leash or in a cage. However, as it will be very crowded, please be considerate so as not to interfere with other customers. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed.
*The entire beach follows normal park regulations
Can I bring a stroller?
Yes, but if you do place it in the seating area, please fold it up so as not to disturb other customers. Please note that there is no place to store strollers. Please keep your stroller in good condition.
Can I use a tripod to take pictures of the fireworks?
Please be careful not to obstruct pedestrians. You can fly a drone up to about 1m in front of your seat, as long as it does not block the view of the rear seats.
Can I fly a drone?
Devices that are operated by radio or radio waves (drones, radio-controlled cars, etc.) are prohibited.
Can I use a selfie stick?
Selfie sticks are prohibited.
Can I live stream on social media?
Live streaming is prohibited.

Other

Can I use a wheelchair in the box seats?
Please refrain from bringing wheelchairs into the box seats. There are designated areas for wheelchair users, including caregivers (paid and free). However, please bring your own wheelchair.
Where are the restrooms with diaper changing stations?
There are diaper changing stations in the restrooms of the Beach House.
They are installed in both men's and women's restrooms. They are also installed at the general rest area, Churaumi Plaza, and Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium.
Are there nursing rooms?
They are located at the general rest area, Churaumi Plaza (nearest), and the general information center, Haisai Plaza.
Is there a kids' corner, etc.?
On the day, you can enjoy various events at Ocean Expo Park. There are also kids' corners at the general information center, Haisai Plaza, and the Oceanic Culture Museum (Wood Education Corner).

Notes

Cancellation conditions

  • Cancellation decisions will be made at any time from one week before the event. (We will make a comprehensive judgment based on the forecast of typhoons and bad weather on the day and during the preparation period.)
  • The final decision on cancellation will be made at 10:00 on Saturday, July 13th.
  • In the event of cancellation, there will be no postponement.
  • Even after the final decision, we may make a comprehensive judgment and decide to cancel due to sudden weather changes (strong winds of 10m/s or more, heavy rain, thunder, and other bad weather, unforeseen natural disasters, etc.).
  • In the event of cancellation, we will announce it on the official website, SNS, and other media.
  • In the event of cancellation of the Summer Festival on Saturday, July 13th, we will refund paid seats, but if the fireworks display is canceled due to bad weather after the paid area opens after 10:00 on the day, we will not refund.
  • In the event of a refund, we may not be able to refund the purchase fee.
  • Please note that if you cancel for personal reasons, we will not refund the ticket price.

General seats

  • Paid seats are divided into blocks within each area, and staff will guide you to the blocks that are best suited for viewing the fireworks on a first-come, first-served basis. Please understand that we want as many people as possible to enjoy the fireworks in comfort, and please sit close together.
  • General seats are approximately 1m x 60cm apart for each person.There are no chairs, so please bring your own sheet.
  • Regardless of age, there is a fee for using one space for one person in the general seats, but preschool children who can sit on your lap are free (one space per person).
  • Large coolers, picnic sheets larger than 1m x 60cm, tents, parasols, etc. are not allowed in the general seats.
    *If you are visiting with more than one person, you can bring coolers and picnic sheets within the number of people.

Box seats

  • Paid seats are divided into blocks within each area, and staff will guide you to the block that is best suited for viewing the fireworks on a first-come, first-served basis. Please understand that we want as many people as possible to enjoy the view in comfort, and please sit close together.
  • Box seats are on the beach, measuring 2m x 2m each and can accommodate up to 6 people.There are no chairs, so please bring a picnic sheet or similar.
  • Tents, parasols, etc. are not permitted in the box seats.
  • Coolers, folding chairs, picnic sheets, etc. may be brought into the box seats as long as they fit within the box seat frame (2m x 2m).

Bus tour seats

  • Paid seats are divided into blocks within each area, and staff will guide you to the blocks that are best suited for viewing the fireworks on a first-come, first-served basis. Please understand that our goal is to provide a comfortable viewing experience for as many people as possible, and sit down close together.
  • Bus tour seats are chair seats. There is a fee for all seats regardless of age, but preschool children who can sit on your lap are free (one seat per person).
  • Coolers, luggage, etc. can be brought into the bus tour seats as long as they are small enough to fit within the frame of your seat.
  • To enter the bus tour seats, you must wear a wristband that will be distributed in advance by each travel agency when you go on the tour. Please be sure to wear it as we will check your wristband at the reception when you enter. If you lose your wristband, it will not be reissued.

General matters

  • When taking photos, tripods are permitted up to 1m in front of your seat, as long as they do not obstruct the flow of people passing by or block the view of the rear seats.
  • Umbrellas and parasols are prohibited. Please wear a raincoat in case of rain.
  • If you leave your seat, please leave your belongings behind and secure them. Please keep your valuables with you.
  • Tickets and web tickets will be exchanged for wristbands at the designated reception desk on the day of the event from 10:00.
  • Wristbands and paid seat tickets will not be reissued if lost.
  • You will not be able to enter if you are not wearing a wristband on your wrist.
  • Please make sure that you collect your wristband at the reception desk in person (one wristband per person). We will not accept multiple exchanges.
  • You can use your wristband to enter and exit the venue and designated areas (re-enter).
  • Please take measures against the hot sun and heatstroke, such as wearing breathable clothing and a hat, and frequently replenishing fluids and salt.
  • Smoking is prohibited within Emerald Beach. Please use the smoking areas in the park.
  • There are dedicated temporary toilets in each paid seating area.
  • There is no parking for paid seats. Please secure your own parking space. Please note that parking is limited. ・Wheelchair seats are available in designated areas for attendants, but please be sure to bring your own wheelchair.
  • Only small dogs are allowed in the designated space, and they must be on a leash or in a cage. Guide dogs and service dogs are allowed.
  • We will not be responsible for lost luggage or trouble between visitors.
  • Please take your trash with you when you leave the venue.
  • There are dark areas inside and outside the venue, so please bring a flashlight or other light.
