Planetarium Hall

A beautiful night sky full of a maximum of 140 million fixed stars is expressed fully on the dome screen.  Enjoy the “world’s greatest night sky” on a relaxing reclining seat.

Introduces the seasonal night sky of Okinawa and Okinawa’s folktales themed on stars.

(Mar - May)

Folktale “The Origin of Star Sand”

Okinawa’s night sky of summer and folktale
It recreates the night sky of spring including “Crux” called “Paigapusu” in Okinawan dialect, which can be seen from Motobu Town where the Ocean Expo Park is located.
It also introduces a folktale of Taketomi called “The Origin of Star Sand”.

(Jun - Aug)

Folktale “Angel Wife”

Okinawa’s night sky of summer and folktale
It recreates the night sky of summer which can be seen from Motobu Town where the Ocean Expo Park is located, and explains about the Polestar which is rooted in the culture of the people of Okinawa as well as about constellation of summer.
It also introduces a folktale of Kerama Island called “Angel Wife”.

The Beautiful Stars of Autumn

(Sep - Nov)

Folktale “Giant on the Moon”

Okinawa’s night sky of autumn and folktale
It recreates the night sky of autumn including the quadrangular stars of autumn called “Daiyochiyabushi” in Okinawan dialect, which can be seen from Motobu Town where the Ocean Expo Park is located.
It also introduces a folktale of Ishigaki Island called “Giant on the Moon”.

Dec - Feb

Folktale “Murikabushi-yunta

Okinawa’s night sky of winter and story
It recreates the night sky full of stars including the Pleiades which is called “Murikabushi” or “Muribushi” in Okinawan dialect and can be seen from Motobu Town where the Ocean Expo Park is located.
It also introduces a story called “Murikabushi-yunta” which is based on an old song of the Yaeyama area.

*Each program is 30 minutes.
*During spring break, summer break, winter break and Golden Week, the program schedule is for Sat, Sun and holidays.

The Great Voyage of Roy and Friends

The Great Voyage of Roy and Friends

-Guided by the star-
Roy (17 years old), an apprentice navigator, challenges sailing for the first time to Guam 800 km away!!  He heads out into the vast sea with his friends utilizing traditional navigation called “Star Navigation” which he learned from his grandfather 

*Each program is 30 minutes

*During spring break, summer break, winter break and Golden Week, the program schedule is for Sat, Sun and holidays

~A journey around the stars~
A spectacular journey around the inner structure of the sun and the fixed stars of the galactic system, as well as the moment of the creation and explosion of a star, only possible with the digital image of the whole sky.
*Since the Journey to the Stars features images with wild movements, please be careful if you are feeling physically sick.

*Each program is 30 minutes.

A journey around the solar system with Galileo

-A journey around the solar system with Galileo-
An educational program that introduces the sun and eight planets in way that’s easy to understand with Galileo Galilei as the host.

A journey around the galactic system with Einstein

-A journey around the galactic system with Einstein-
An educational program that explains about the life of a star, the world of the galactic system, and the end of universe with Einstein as the host.

*Since the Exciting, Thrilling, Exploration of the Universe☆ features images with wild movements, please be careful if you are feeling physically sick.

*Each program is 30 minutes.

*Two 15-minute programs play consecutively on Sat, Sun and holidays.
