ヒスイカズラ

花の色が宝石のヒスイの色に似ていることが名前の由来である。原産地のフィリピンでは、受粉は主にオオコウモリによって行われる。当館では、例年ゴールデンウィーク前後に、開花のピークが2回見られる。

The flower's name comes from its resemblance to the color of the gemstone jade. In its native Philippines, pollination is mainly carried out by fruit bats. At this facility, the plant typically shows two flowering peaks around Japan’s Golden Week holiday period each year.
