バンダ・セルレア

インド、ミャンマー、タイの標高800～1700mに分布する着生ランです。原種ランとしては珍しい青紫色の大輪花を咲かせ、その花色が遺伝しやすいことから、青系花色をもつ園芸品種の育成において重要な交配親として利用されてきました。
An epiphytic orchid native to India, Myanmar, and Thailand, occurring at elevations of 800–1,700 m. It bears large bluish-purple flowers, an uncommon characteristic among wild orchid species. Owing to the heritability of its distinctive flower color, it has played an important role as a parent in the development of blue-flowered orchid cultivars.
