～At Shurijo Castle, the Day Begins with the Ukejo Gate-Opening Ceremony～

With the signaling sound of the gong and calls for “Ukejo”, the castle gates are opened to invite the visitors to the Shurijo Castle Seiden. Classical Ryukyuan music and Uzagaku are played for approximately 15 minutes following the opening of the gates.
We hope you’ll enjoy the special moments only presented in the mornings at Shurijo Castle Park.

・Please feel free to take photos together with the Shurijo Castle staff (gatekeeper) dressed in costumes worn by officials during the period of the Ryukyu Dynasty.

※From the Shurijo Castle Park Prefectural Parking Lot, it will take about 10 minutes on foot to reach Hoshinmon.
