Tanka fortune-telling: In the Nibanza (or Butsuma), seven kinds of goods are laid out in front of the baby to celebrate and determine his or her future, according to whichever one he or she selects first.
A celebration of longevity takes place on September 7th (in accordance with the lunar calendar) in their ninety-seventh year of age (as determined by the traditional Japanese system). A village parade is held, in which 97-year-old people hold a pinwheel [Kajimaya], going back to the days when they were playing with it.
A simulated funeral is held on the day before the real event.
