This house has a standard south-facing layout. Starting from the east, there are four rooms: The Ichibanza, which has a small alcove, the Nibanza, which is used as a room for keeping Buddhist images, the Sanbanza a living room, and the Shimoza, a kitchen. In the back are located the Ichiban-uraza and Niban-uraza, children’s rooms, and the Sanban-uraza, which has a hearth and is also used as a room for giving birth.
