The sacred place that protects a village

Utaki is a sacred place that protects a village. Ancestral gods of blood-related ancestors, external gods such as the gods of Nirai-Kanai, people who contributed to the village, and noble female servants of god are enshrined in some Utaki. Some of the ancestral graveyards became sanctuaries later, and it is believed that the village was originally formed around Utaki. Utaki derived from the ancestral spirit gods of such ancestors is often in contact with the head family‘s house at the back of the village. Utaki in the Native Okinawa Village is also arranged this way.
There are natural stones, stacked stones, shrines, etc. in Utaki, and the most sacred place surrounded by large rocks and trees is called [Ibi] in Utaki. It is said that only female servants of god such as Noro can enter the place, and a stone incense burner and pedestals are placed in front of [Ibi], and [Ibi] and its surroundings are sometimes dimly lit by being surrounded by sacred palm trees.

Tenchijiamachiji Utaki (Utaki in a castle)
It's Utaki in Nakijin Castle. In "Omoro-soushi", it was called "Kanahiyabu in Nakijin Castle", and it's the most sacred place in Nakijin Castle.
It's located on the southeast side of [Uchibara] (the place where the lady-in-waiting room was said to have been), and is surrounded by a stone wall of about 1 meter high. It is reported that a lady-in-waiting in the castle prayed for prosperity of descendants, national security, and good harvest, and it was once a place where no men admitted.
