- Gods of the mansion and an amulet tool
In Okinawa, folklore and folk practices were inextricably linked with livelihoods and everyday life. You can find many of the tools related to folk beliefs in their dwelling. (Depending on the area, it may or may not be worshiped.)
The six gods of the pillars in the mansion
①God of fire [Hinukan]
②Ancestral spirit [Totome]
③Gods of the four corners [Yunshinukami]
④God of the gate [Jounukami]
⑤God of the toilet [Furunukami], believed to have a strong power to ward off evil, and sometimes even retrieve a lost or wandering soul [Mabui].
⑥[Nakajinnu kami]
Amulet
⑦Suijigai [Akugeshi] A kind of magic amulet, usually placed on the gate or outer fence of the mansion.
⑧Tridacna [Munnukimun]
⑨[Fufuda] A plate of rectangular shape of rectangular shape with a spell written in Indian ink, placed at the gatepost or the four corners of the mansion
