Private house of Yonaguni Island
Made out of bamboo!
This building is a farmhouse which used to be located on Yonagunijima Island, and on the premises are the main house (Da), kitchen (Chimuyah) as well as a barn and small kitchen garden indicating a typical farmhouse of Yonaguni. Also, bamboo was an essential construction material and was used as the base material for various parts of the house including the hedges, walls, floors, door and attic. Another characteristic is, since horses of Yonagunijima Island are small, horse stables are smaller compared to other regions.
